MORE ABOUT DANSEREYE
Founded by Artistic Director, Scott Thyberg, Dansereye showcases ground-breaking premieres and dynamic revivals of signature ballets. While they honor the traditions and language of classical ballet, they encourage a balance between a genuine reverence for classical ballet ~ its roots, traditions and vocabulary ~ with a robust, affectionate and healthy irreverence for archaic practices or a blind adherence to maintaining the status quo or following what is trendy.
Dansereye focuses its attention on making work they are excited to share with you. If they love it, they trust that you will love it, too.
CALLING ALL MUSIC LOVERS
Music is the heartbeat of any beautiful performance, and Dansereye is proud to have commissioned an original musical score for a new ballet called Second Salt, by Hollywood-based composer Craig Safan.
Safan, an Emmy-nominated and eight-time ASCAP award-winning composer, has scored feature films, television, and documentaries, as well as having three albums of his own music released. His work includes scores for the classic sitcom “Cheers” to the classic “The Last Starfighter.” His distinctive musical palette makes him a dream collaborator for Dansereye.
Craig will be coming from Los Angeles to be with Dansereye for the week in the theatre to rehearse the musicians for Second Salt. The music for this ballet will be performed live on August 9 & 10 and is scored for cello, clarinet/bass clarinet, and percussion.
Additionally, Dansereye is thrilled to welcome an incredibly talented group of artists for this 2nd Season! Of the ten total dancers in the company, five are making their debut this summer. Check out artist bios here.
