Salon Leo, located at 91 Danbury Road, recently opened their doors and has quickly garnered a reputation for being a soothing, personalized beauty experience. Owner Leo Torres brings 20-plus years of coloring experience to his new space. He began his career in Connecticut, spent time in New York, and then returned and worked in Ridgefield for 15 years. He left town for a year, while preparing to open his own salon. “I love being behind the chair, but I’ve always wanted to have my own place,” says Leo. “As the owner, I don’t get to punch out at the end of the day – there’s always something to do, but I love it.”
Salon Leo offers a quiet reprieve from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From the fresh brewed cappuccino served in a fine porcelain cup to the calming music to the beautifully appointed space – no detail has been overlooked. The salon, completely designed by Leo, is bright and airy, with soft gray tones and black round accent mirrors. “One client mentioned that the mirrors symbolize me coming full circle to my childhood dreams,” he says.
In addition to Leo, there are currently three additional talented stylists, all of whom provide the highest level of service. “We really care about our clients and want their experience to be the best it can be,” says Leo.
Clients’ health is a priority for Leo, and this is reflected in the products they use. Salon Leo is the only local salon that exclusively carries the Davines line. “Davines is a family-owned Italian luxury brand,” he says. “They focus on sustainability, minimizing their carbon footprint and health.” Stylists are often regularly exposed to harsh chemicals, which can take a toll on their health. “Since switching to the Davines line, I feel so much better,” he says, “which means that my clients are also feeling better.”
Salon Leo has teamed up with the Ridgefield Guild of Artists to showcase artwork of Guild artists. “This partnership helps the artists because their work gets displayed and possibly sold, and for us, it brings in people that might not have found our salon. It’s a great collaboration,” says Leo. The artwork is swapped out every three months, which also gives Salon Leo a refresher on their wall space.
