Rarely a day goes by without my feeling grateful to live and raise a family in Ridgefield. As a 35-year resident, a wife, and a mother of two children who attended Ridgefield schools, I have experienced firsthand the strength of this community and its commitment to supporting young people.
One of the partnerships I am most proud of is the longstanding collaboration among town leadership, First Selectman Rudy Marconi, the Ridgefield Public Schools, and Kids In Crisis. Together, we have built a network of care that meets students where they are, both in school and beyond. Through our TeenTalk counselors at Ridgefield High School, Scotts Ridge Middle School, and East Ridge Middle School, students have a safe, confidential place to talk, build resilience, and find guidance.
After school, Ridgefield’s Lighthouse youth group gives teens a place to connect, build friendships, and feel a sense of belonging. And at any hour, support is always available. The Kids In Crisis Helpline (203-661-1911) is staffed 24/7 by trained counselors who provide immediate support, guidance, and referrals for children, teens, and families navigating challenges.
It is this partnership and shared responsibility that keep our children supported every hour of every day.
With Gratitude,
Denise
