The 068 community has voted, and the name of our soon-to-be pardoned turkey is…LIBERTY!
Liberty the Turkey hails from Henny Penny Farm, right here in Ridgefield. Since 2015, Henny Penny Farm has offered customers the highest quality meats and produce through their regenerative farm practices.
Ridgefield’s 4th Annual Turkey Pardoning Ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 22, 2026, at the Lounsbury House, 316 Main Street. Festivities will begin at 12:00 p.m., with the official Turkey Pardoning Ceremony by First Selectman Rudy Marconi at 1:00 p.m. After the pardon, from 1:00–1:30 p.m., everyone is invited to meet our honored turkey and take photos with this year’s feathered celebrity.
This beloved Ridgefield Thanksgiving tradition is part of The Act of Giving Back, supporting three outstanding local organizations: The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield, Ridgefield Veterans Memorial Community Association, and The Angel of Ridgefield. It is made possible by the Lounsbury House, the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce, and 068 Magazine, and is sponsored by Chefs’ Warehouse and EZ Services.Be sure to join us for this fun-filled community celebration with a purpose! •
Family & Children’s Aid (FCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the lives of children, families, and individuals throughout Connecticut. Every day, FCA works to improve the well-being of the communities it serves by providing hope, healing, and support to those facing emotional and mental health challenges, family hardship, homelessness, and other life challenges. Its services empower children, families, and individuals to achieve stability, strengthen relationships, and build healthier futures.
One former Harmony House resident says, “FCA provided a roof over our heads, food to eat, clothes for myself and my child, and resources that empowered me to leave spiritually, mentally, and physically better than when I entered.” Financial contributions help sustain critical programs and services that impact thousands of individuals each year, while donations of new, unused toys help bring joy to children and families during the holiday season.
