For Ridgefield native Arianna Danzig, dance has never simply been an activity; it has been the thread running through nearly every stage of her life. She began dancing at just two years old, grew up training in Ridgefield, became captain of the Ridgefield High School Dance Team, pursued dance throughout college, and built a career as a teacher, professional choreographer, and coach. Now, Danzig has brought those experiences home with the opening of The Dance Studio by ADC.
Opening her own studio has always been a dream of hers, but more than that, she wanted to create the kind of environment she believes dancers deserve and one where they are challenged to work hard and reach their potential while also feeling supported, valued, and excited to walk through the door.
Offering approximately 20–25 classes each week, the studio provides training in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, acro, musical theater, and competitive dance for students of varying ages and experience levels. Classes are intentionally kept small, generally capped between seven and ten dancers, allowing instructors to know their students individually and provide meaningful corrections and attention.
For Danzig, however, the goal is not simply to operate a studio with a strong class schedule. She hopes to build a culture. “When you come into The Dance Studio by ADC, I want you to feel the community we’ve built here,” she says.
Danzig’s experience coaching competitive high school dance has allowed her to mentor dancers interested in continuing beyond the studio—particularly those hoping to pursue collegiate dance teams.
“A lot of my dancers have goals of being on a college dance team, but they don’t necessarily know what steps they need to take to get there,” says Danzig. “I want to be a resource and mentor for them.”
But whether a child is taking their very first class or working toward an advanced competitive or collegiate goal, Danzig hopess each dancer to leave the studio stronger and more confident than when they arrived.
Opening The Dance Studio by ADC is both a new chapter and a return to where Danzig’s own story began. The dancer who grew up in Ridgefield is now helping to shape its next generation of dancers.
