Lyman Orchards’ Sunflower Maze is still in “full bloom” and will be open through August 3oth! About an hour drive from Ridgefield, a visit to Lyman Orchards makes for a fun day trip. The maze is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Following Tropical Storm Isaias, which damaged some of the sunflowers, admission was reduced to $8 for adults, $4 for ages 4 – 12 and free for children under 3 years. Storm damage or not, the seemingly endless sunflower fields are still a cheerful, uplifting sight and the maze is a fun activity for all ages.
Stop at Lyman Orchards’ market, Apple Barrel, pre or post-visit for fresh produce, deli sandwiches, hot and cold entrees, frozen meals, locally crafted sweets, and more.
This year 350,000 blooming sunflowers were crafted into a unique design called “Back in Space,” celebrating the launch of Spacex and the first manned flight in decades. $1 from every admission supports the Connecticut Children’s Pediatric Care Unit. Lyman Orchards hopes “for people to reach for the stars in their lives.” We’ll support that to infinity and beyond!
